Is it worth considering? Oprah's menus look okay... if I had a personal chef! Sigh. 21 days? Not this summer.

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are our future

How great were these ladies on Oprah? Tina glossed over her Oh-Oprah-esque obsession with being Oprah's BFF with aplomb, just like Anne and I will when we finally get on the show. (Stating dreams out loud is part of The Secret!) Both Tina and Amy were adorably nervous and excited, like they couldn't believe they were on Oprah. I loved it, ladies. Nice work.

And Tina's advice to smart and funny girls who don't get guys was so great: "Let the boys practice on other girls, let them give other girls terrible Valentine's Day presents, let them make mistakes, let them learn how to French kiss, and then swoop in when they're fully formed... like 30."

Gayle at Allen and Sons

Gayle went to my favorite restaurant ever! Allen and Sons is in my hometown of Chapel Hill, NC. Luckily, she changed from a DUKE shirt to a UNC shirt... phew. She says she walked in wearing a DUKE shirt, and the customers "hissed" at her. Then a patron named Amy gave her the Carolina shirt she was wearing so that Gayle could change.

Now, who was the Oprah producer who let her walk into Allen and Sons with a DUKE shirt on? For shame!

Go get bbq here--with slaw and sweet tea. It is divine.

The O Closet is Now Open

Harpo is more and more like Disneyworld every day. But way better. I really want to go shopping in Oprah's Closet. Dead serious. How much do you think the open-collared gowns she so loves go for? She's probably keeping them, right? Miss O loves to show her décolletage!


PS-Also, Oprah bought Gayle and apartment and gave Dr. Oz a show! What have my BFFs done for me lately?

Oprah Shines

I just had to point to this amazing recap of going to the O Show by Shine user Shawn.

I feel like Shawn and I are alike... this is just how I would feel at almost every turn! But now I know to a) dress like an Easter Egg, and b) say it's my birthday. If I get up the nerve.

Oh yes, I'm going. One day. Anne? Are you with me? And, will you dress up?

They do kind of look Easter-eggy, right?

Oprah, Gayle, Tina... and Me?

We all know that Gayle King is Oprah's best friend. They talk on the phone every day, they take
cross-country road trips together, and Gayle inherits realty when Oprah's dogs die. I have a best friend already, and she's awesome, but... as awesome as Oprah?

I admit, I have a slight fascination with Oprah. She raises money for charity, runs marathons -- well, one marathon -- and made thousands of women realize they were wearing the wrong bra size. I'm not one of those women who subscribe to the Oprah Religion, but I will say when her show on the Secret aired, I made a dream board (don't make fun).

If anything were to happen between Gayle and Oprah, I would be happy to slip in as her new BFF. But, it looks like I might have some competition! Tina Fey has told Us Weekly, she'd love to have Oprah on 30 Rock: "I want Oprah to play my best friend. I want to spend time with Oprah, and I don't know what I need to do to make it happen."

Tina, you may be famous, whip smart, incredibly funny, and make more money than I do, but well, hmm -- I guess you do sound better on paper. I can tap dance though. Does that make a difference?
